Such a mesmerizing mythical world down there, filled with creatures both large and small that we have only just barely begun to understand. This beautiful 'show stopping' tiger shark was simply minding her own business when these yellowtail slipped into a trance and followed her around for awhile. I can't say I blame them! It looks more like prey versus predator in this photo! ___________________________________ #worthmorealive

• • Galah - Cacatua roseicapilla • To call someone a Galah in Australia is not something you want to do, to your friends. Galah in Australian slang means fool, clown or idiot and comes from the distinctive (and some say quite funny-sounding) call. To watch these birds “fooling around” is quite a sight especially when you see them hanging upside down on wires or laying on their back in the grass. • This one kept a close eye on me while I tried to capture it outside its nesting hollow. Looks like spring is coming early this year… • Galahs were once confined to the open plains that occur beyond the inland slopes of the Great Divide in eastern Australia, north of the Flinders Ranges in South Australia, and north of the Mulga–Eucalypt line in Western Australia. However, following the clearing of subcoastal woodlands for farming, Galahs began to flood in, taking advantage of the new habitat and its abundant supply of food. They even spread to the coasts, where they are now a familiar sight in the cities. (Text Source: BirdLife Australia) • New blog out now: Leave No Trace. Link in BIO • My passion is wildlife photography and I hope I can bring the beauty of nature into your home and show how amazing nature is. Every single animal needs our protection as they all play an important part in our survival. Unfortunately, humans have wiped out on average 60% of mammals, birds, fish and reptiles since 1970 a recent study finds. With my wildlife photos, I hope to showcase a fraction of them before they are gone. Only what you know, you will love and protect… • ©️ Spohr Photography 2019, all rights reserved.

Photo by Ami Vitale @amivitale | Naomi, one of the dedicated keepers at Reteti Elephant Sanctuary (@r.e.s.c.u.e) and one of the very first indigenous Samburu women keepers in Africa, gets a caress from Shaba, @r.e.s.c.u.e's proxy matriarch. Shaba was rescued in November 2016, when poachers shot her mother dead. She arrived traumatized. It took the team a long time to gain her trust, spending day and night talking, singing, offering seed pods and fresh grass, anything they could think of. Then, one day she finally took a bottle and a strong bond was formed. Today, she is instrumental to the sanctuary. She keeps order, teaches the young ones how to forage and navigate steep paths, and, most incredibly, greets every new orphan at the sanctuary with a heartfelt and emotional hello. Follow @amivitale and @r.e.s.c.u.e to learn how you can support this crucial work. @conservationorg @thephotosociety @natgeoimagecollection #worthmorealive

🙈 -------------------- I like to see how the Elephants play with water, looks like fun, I would join but you know...might be a bit too dangerous • • • • • #worthmorealive
