Prison To The Streets Corp

Good Afternoon, I just wanna say I appreciate the love and support we’re receiving from the community, friends and family as we plant the seeds of Prison To The Streets in the fertile land of the Lower East Side. Before my incarceration (which I served 16years of a 81/3-25 year prison term) the Lower East Side as a whole was very supportive to anything and anyone that was representing for the LES. When i returned back to the LES after being released I was confronted with the exact opposite, total devision. And I was also confronted with the lack of resources for the youth. Many of the programs my generation were provided no longer existed or were understaffed ie. Boys Club on 10th street where there’s a professional recording studio, sound proof music rooms filled with instruments that wasn’t and maybe still isn’t being used. I applaud all the organizations engaging the youth and providing services for the community. I feel it’s very important that as community and organizational leaders we have to find that common ground (community) and find a way that we can work cohesively and provide the LES with the best services we have to offer. On August 4th I urge every community leader, Organization, Elder, Young etc. To come out and stand in Unity. Peace and Bsings! #change @edalliance @henrystreetsettlement @thesadontefoundation @infinitemovementnyc @groundupyouthwork @_skills_and_drills @_united please tag or @ the whole community!!!! PLEASE!!!!!!!!

Malvern Hills

Just enjoyed an absolutely awesome couple of days off together, exploring the stunning countryside we are blessed to have surrounding us. And that time, just embracing nature and each other, really brought home how much more you get from life when you just put yourself out there. When you step outside the lines. When you dare, even just a little, to truly live. When you dare to take even the smallest risk. Marianne Williamson’s beautiful poem, ‘Our Deepest Fear’ has the line: “Your playing small does not serve the world”. Or, you might say, “Your playing it safe is no use to anyone, least of all you”. Playing it safe keeps you trapped in the present. It holds you back from encountering all that the world is longing to give you. It keeps you from meeting, and becoming, the person you are meant to be - the *real* you. So take a risk. Be radical. What’s the worst that can happen? If it all hits the fan, the world will still turn, and you *will* find a way back. Trust me. . . . . . . . # selfdevelopmentgoals dayoffwellspent #change
