Repost from @leonardodicaprio using @RepostRegramApp - @greenmatters: Officials at the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service announced last week that they are considering adding giraffes to the endangered species list. ⁣ ⁣ The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service announced that it was officially launching a detailed investigation to determine if giraffes should be named an endangered species. The International Union for Conservation of Nature labeled giraffes as "vulnerable" in 2016, and noted that giraffe populations had decreased by up to 40 percent over the past three decades. Meet the exquisite Spike-Thumb frog. It’s one of many frog species that are disappearing from the effects of chytridiomycosis. An infectious disease that is devastating amphibian populations. Rising global temperatures, alterations to habitats all proliferate the disease. Changing temperatures have provided and optimal growth environment for the Chytrid fungus. I wanted to honour these beautiful frogs by illustrating them. They exist and their populations are dying.

from @leonardodicaprio (@repost_media_app) @cnn: For the first time since 1882, when the first coal-fired power plant started running in the UK, the country has gone coal-free for a full week, according to the National Grid Electricity System Operator. "While this is the first time this has happened, I predict it will become the new normal," said Fintan Slye, director of the ESO. "We believe that by 2025 we will be able to fully operate Great Britain's electricity system with zero carbon."
