It’ll be too hot to function tomorrow. Go cami and skirt for extra breeziness. And ditch the jean jacket. http://liketk.it/2Cl96 @liketoknow.it

This closet renovation brought to you by huggable hangers. Ok, not really, but I did buy them in bulk off Amazon because I wanted consistency. They’re on sale for and i included them in a list of items that I use in my everyday life and would 1000000% recommend. I also included the five things I bought from Prime Day (it’s a list—one of the items is kids toothbrushes). Head over to the blog for more or shop here👉🏻 http://liketk.it/2Dqeh @liketoknow.it (closet actually designed by @inspiredclosets )📸 @ironandhoney

Just a good ol’ fashioned summer outfit. Beating the heat in a lightweight, cotton dress is about as good as it gets. http://liketk.it/2DmZ0 @liketoknow.it 📸 @ironandhoney

Guess what? This look is two years old and comprised completely of old Nordstrom Anniversary Sale product. But also, guess what? I recreated it using product that’s part of the sale right now! These rag & born s in particular were one of my favorite finds and I always get questions about them when I wear them. Well, this year Vince made a nearly exact version of that and they’re actually cheaper than what I paid. The sweater is old Vince (and I found two look alikes) and jeans are rag & bone (found something similar for them, too!). As you can see, I pride myself on picking items that I can wear for years to come so check out my blog to see what I rounded up this year. http://liketk.it/2Dirp @liketoknow.it

I, like so many of you, had years of braces growing up. My orthodontist was so scary (seriously, my siblings and I still talk about him), the braces hurt so badly after they were tightened and they poked and prodded us. It wouldn’t be a big deal but 20 years later, my teeth have moved! My bottom teeth in particular have bothered me over the past decade but given the cost of modern orthodontia, I’ve only toyed with the idea of fixing them. I was recently introduced to @livecandid and went to their Chicago location for a free consult. They have the same technology as other brands you’ve heard of but it’s a fraction of the cost. My treatment plan is only three months and I’m seriously considering doing it (and I’ll be paying for it myself). You were a kind and stubborn soul, Jerome—a biggie like no other. We can’t replace you..we’d never try. You were with our family for so many milestones and for that I’m grateful. You were also the only dog that my dad would ever let on his couch (I still get a kick out of that). I hope you know how much we love you, always and forever. Look out for us, ok?

I’m not 100% green, non-toxic, or whatever buzz word is being used today. Sure, I try to make good choices but ultimately, I’m realistic.  However, I’m always on the hunt for products that are better for me, my family, and the environment.  Using @HomeMadeSimple products is an easy switch.  This @HomeMadeSimple multi-purpose spray works in every room in my house, which is why I’m such a big fan.  It shines up my faucets just as well as it cleans the quartz countertops--and I don’t need to worry when my kids eat directly off the counter.  The same applies to when I’m washing the pots and pans--a plant-based cleaner is a no-brainer (especially when it gets off the sauces and grime). You don’t have to be perfect to make an impact and you don’t have to overhaul your life (remember that! It’s important); I’m all about baby steps and small changes and using @HomeMadeSimple is a great start. It’s all available at @meijerstores for under $5, too

Living that southern community life, complete with golf cart, at my big sister’s house this week. You know it’s been a fun vacation when you’re basically in a swimsuit and coverup the whole time 👌🏻 They say you don’t vacation with kids but when you’re with family and there are older cousins to watch and play with your little ones all day, that feels like a vacay to me 👏🏻 Happy 4th of July! 🇺🇸

A few years ago, I decided to incorporate some greener products into my life.  I’ve dabbled with cleaner skincare, makeup, and even household cleaning items.  Have I completely made the switch?  No--but it’s so easy to make small changes here and there, like with @homemadesimple’s plant-based cleaning products.  I’ve partnered with them this month and my personal favorite from their line is the multi-purpose cleaning spray--the scent is light and pleasant, it’s under $5 at @meijerstores, and it WORKS.  From kitchen counters, to bathrooms, to windows, it cleans well (and doesn’t leave streaks on glass--a big plus from me)--it makes going green an easy choice. Check out today’s blog post to read about why I prefer plant-based cleaning products.

On a family trip, will pop in intermittently this week but hoping to kick back, enjoy the holiday, get some sun, and let the kids make some memories with their cousins in South Carolina. Thank God for modern-day travel, right? Been living in this Damsel x Odell’s dress which is great on the street but doubles nicely as a swim coverup (I wore it today and yesterday 😉) And the sister I’m visiting is 10 years older than me (I’m the youngest of four) and our kids are all still besties, despite being years apart ❤️ http://liketk.it/2CZPs @liketoknow.it 📸 @ironandhoney

Fourth of July or not, I’m always down for a red dress. We’re headed down south to visit fily and I so excited for a hot, muggy day, pool time, and some pimento cheese dip. http://liketk.it/2CW8S @liketoknow.it

When I launched my weekly series earlier this year, I received so many comments and questions. The comments were mostly thanking me for showing people how to breathe more life into their own respective closets. In a world of 'more more more,' I pride myself on wearing items that are years old, season after season. There is so much good stuff in your closet--you just need to look at it with new eyes! The tough part was figuring out how to care for clothes well enough that they last for years. I'm a huge believer in using the cold, delicate wash and hang dry method (a good ste or iron is usually needed) and using the dry cleaner as necessary. If you treat your clothing well, it'll do the se in return. That’s why when @downy asked me to be part of the Challenge I jumped at the chance. Are you kidding me?! That's already what I try to do with my own closet and I all for extending the longevity of my pieces. It turns out that the average person wears an article of clothing LESS THAN 10 TIMES before throwing it away; not only is that extremely wasteful but it's downright sad. Proper care and washing (and proper styling) can get the most of your wardrobe and I here for that challenge. Throughout the month on IG stories, you'll see me wearing, styling, and washing with cold water and conditioning with Downy) this black bodysuit--I challenge you do the se. Let's wear our clothes this summer, shall we? Check out the link in my bio for to get your Downy now!
